The reserved Half-Elf Okko has lived in Shatterfall for as long as he can remember, but has only recently been catalyzed to joining the ongoings of the town. Besides his work at the docks, he can often be found by going to the lone tree on the river-bend after dark.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

The Half Elf stands at 6'3"/190 cm tall and is fairly well built from his history of black-smithing, training under his master, and work at the docks, weighing in at about 220 pounds/100 kg. He has long wavy black hair that reaches his shoulders and dark brown eyes, which if examined closely, shows small specks of silver in the iris. His skin is fair, although it frequently goes shades of pink along with his ears. He does have some scars on his body: a thin cut down his right eye; a deeper cut up from his jaw to his right cheek; and various others on his back and chest. When he's in his usual attire, black pants and his navy blue vest with tsunami design, his two tattoos can be seen. A blue dragon curling around his left arm and a thunderstorm on his right.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Okko is usually a friendly, calm Half-Elf who doesn't actively seeks conflict. That is, when he's not put into flirtatious, complementary, new, or embarrassing scenarios, of any degree. In these situations, he gets bashful and stutters, talking a mile a minute, starting a hundred sentences and ending them before they can finish. He can usually end his self train wreck by taking a deep breath, but if the flirting is pushed, so are his limits.

The Blush Meter[edit | edit source]

Blush Meter: [ ]

When Okko is under great pressure of the flirtatious type, the Blush Meter arrives to give a proper gauge of his flushed face.

Alpha Okko[edit | edit source]

"I was hoping for something... More, and here you are, crushing and fulfilling my every dream..."

Despite this, there have been times where Okko has seemed "out of character", standing his full height, speaking with a stern, low, calculating voice and looking directly into people's eyes with a cold glare[1]. These moments don't last long though, as he often returns to his normal demeanor a second later and apologizes for his behavior. Recently, this behavior was extended after Keylee use Calm Emotions on Okko, a "familiar feeling" to him. After a few lines of dialogue [2] she ends the spell, which ends the "out of character' moment and puts him in a despondent state.

After learning about what happened to Okko, Remani goes to his house to ask about what happened. Keylee joins soon after and, when she's unsatisfied with the answers Okko gave her during a magically forceful interrogation, proceeds to order Remani to knock him out. When he comes to again, he's tied up and Remani apologizes. Keylee, however, is still unsatisfied and seeks to speak with the man in charge, and casts Calm Emotions on Okko once more [3]. After talking in that state for the full duration of the spell, Okko falls to the ground, retching and broken. Remani stays to comfort him, while Keylee leaves.

Under the Tree on the River-Bend[edit | edit source]

...A man goes to the doctor, says that he's depressed, that their place in the world feels vague and unsure. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple, go to the tree on the river-bend when the moon is in the sky, there, you'll find the Half Elf Okko swimming in the water. Float with him and let all your troubles out"...

Okko has made it a nightly routine to make his way to a spot on the river that curves out of the town and into the quiet of the Eastfields; The Tree on the River Bend. Here is where he usually finds solace and peace. Usually. Many nights, Okko's nightly swim is interrupted by a half naked unsuspecting town member[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]. After Okko's initial embarrassment, he ends up talking to the person, trying to help their troubles, often letting them talk themselves into help. To help in these endeavors, an unknown individual put a lost and found box in the Wayfarer that held a 'River Occupied' sign, which Okko keeps on the tree.

Known History[edit | edit source]

...The man cries, and says softly, "But doctor, I am Okko"

Act I

Okko publicly tells everyone a simple version of his past; His mom was a sailor, she ended up shipwrecked on Shatterfall and settled, working as a blacksmith. Okko worked with his mom in the forge, which prevented him from going out and meeting anyone. One day she disappeared. His master Terkshima took him in and started to train him, and he started working at the docks as soon as they were acquired[12]. He's made small mentions of "The Twins", but only semi elaborated that they were his first friends to Xyla Harbinger, and that he did something horrible. Along with this, there have been small hints that there might be more to his past than he lets on, with his possession and aptitude with many burglary tools[13].

These hints enticed a certain Vhuman, Josie, leading her to break into Okko's home and glance into his life[14].
What she saw with that glance, only she can tell.

After the falling out at the River on Nynsar's Day night, Xyla goes to Okko's house to check up on him [15]. There, in a ruined state after Keylee's Calm Emotions episode, Okko brings his close friend in. Xyla gets frustrated and lashes out, demanding that Okko tells her what he did. After whispering in her ear, Xyla shoves him away, almost disgusted.
What she heard with that whisper, only she can tell.

After hearing about what happened to Okko under the effects of Calm Emotions, Remani finds his house to confront him about what happened. Keylee soon joins, and in an interrogation they force out some truths from Okko [3]. When he goes Alpha, it's still him, and when he's in that state he doesn't feel the pain that he does when he's 'normal'. Afterwards, he breaks down, retching on the floor.

Some days later, Xyla and Josie go to Okko's home to confront him about what they learned about his past. Upon entering, they see Okko seated at a table with a large Black Dragonborn on his right and a slim, female, White Dragonborn on his left, Canticle. The pair try to confront Okko about the blood on his hands and the bond that he broke, and how they're family and won't leave him, but the only person who's speaking is Canticle, who shows an over-fondness of Okko and prods the pair about how they and others acted to him [16]. She and the other large Dragonborn leave after their discussion, disappearing in a mist of ice, leaving Xyla and Josie to recover a despondent Okko.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

"I-I never really dealt with, people, I mean, not until now, heh"

During his childhood, Okko could be described as incredibly shy at best and more accurately described as a total recluse in his work. Recently, due to some catalist, Okko has been getting more involved in the ongoings of Shatterfall, and has made some relationships for the first time in his life.

Player Characters

Xyla Harbinger[edit | edit source]

Hearing the crunching of gravel nearby, Xyla stands abruptly.

Xyla was the first person to make a relationship with Okko since he was a child. Despite Xyla's harsher personality, Okko managed to stick with her and has opened up to the newly discovered kindred soul. Even with the stark size and personality differences, Okko sees a large number of parallels between the two of them, and that comforts and worries him.

After the events of Nynsar's Day night at the river and the Keylee Calm Emotions episode, Xyla checks in on Okko at his house, where he whispers something into her ear. She shoves him away and leaves, disturbed. She says that she'll come back, but Okko has his doubts [15].

Xyla later comes back with Josie to confront Okko, but is instead met with the White Dragonborn Canticle [16]. After the episode with her, Xyla comforts Okko, and lets him know that she's sorry for what happened and that she forgives him. He's overjoyed to have his friend back.

Josie/Josefine[edit | edit source]

Josie approaches the river after a dull day

Okko only breifly met the Vhuman known as Josie shortly after he met Xyla. A lot of his first impressions came from other people, which included many things along the line of "Promiscuous", "Meddling" and "Shallow". Trying to keep himself from creating preconceived notions of her, Okko kept a hope to get to know her, and it soon became more than a hope. During Okko's first conversation with Josie, he was happy to learn something about her. She was more [9]. Recently, Josie delved into Okko's history, by breaking into his home. As payment, Josie let Okko delve into her history, and Okko began to see the likeness between himself and her, and his hope grew [14].

After the events of Nynsar's Day, Josie goes to Okko's house to check up on, where she finds him in a physically healthier state [17]. He catches up with her on recent events and worries, but soon becomes determined to tell her something, something that he can't say outright outloud. He gives her a secret message, and she runs off to her room to decode the notebook. She learns of the River Elf's past, and informs Xyla quickly.

Josie and Xyla return to Okko's home to confront him about what they learned, but instead confront the White Dragonborn Canticle [16]. After the episode's done, she's left to recover a despondent Okko. He's overwhelmed by the care and empathy she shows.

Keylee[edit | edit source]

Keylee enters the space and sighs

Although Okko's first interaction with Keylee was a little shaky, their shared link with Xyla kept him in her good graces[18]. Okko was able to learn more about Keylee under the Tree on the River Bend before Xyla arrived, where they then had a nice time in the water[11]. That nice time took a turn, however, when Keylee got Okko talking, which lead to some revealing of the past and, with a little push, brought Okko to reveal his relationship with the river and the tree. Recently, Okko's been trying to comfort Keylee after the falling out of what happened at the river on the night of Nynsar's Day [19].

Some days after the events of Nynsar's Day, Okko finds Keylee in the Eastfield, completely fine [20]. Where he was trying to comfort her, the tables turn, and he tells her that he's jealous of her strength to recover. She uses a Calm Emotions spell on Okko, to put him at ease, but this sends him into an "out of character" moment, which lasts much longer than a few seconds due to the spell. After some dialogue, she ends the spell, scared. Okko is despondent and tries to leave, but she holds onto him, trying to figure out if he's alright. Okko soon leaves, leaving her with a stone and more questions than answers.

Some days after, she goes to Okko's house to find answers, and finds the River Elf already being confronted by Remani[21]. She forces some truths out of him, and then after some miscommunication, Remani knocks him out. When he comes to again, she's unsatisfied with his answers and behavior, so she uses calm emotions to bring about Alpha Okko. When Okko leaves that state, he collapses to the ground, and Keylee leaves after a few words. Okko thought that she hated him.

After a night at the Wayfarer, Keylee confronts Okko about what happened when she and Remani went to his house [22]. Fearful, Okko hears her out, and she wanted to apologize and help. Okko wasn't ready to forgive her for what she did yet, and apparently, it turned out she wasn't ready to apologize. She confirmed his fears and worries, and Okko knew that she hated him.

During Borgost, Lucas gave Okko some advice, "Just because tonight is for it doesn't mean it has to be tonight Okko" [23], which he took to heart. Some days after Borgost, Okko confronted Keylee about what happened, and they were able to clear the air. She brought him to her home, where he met her parents and enjoyed his friendship.

Remani[edit | edit source]

Remani notices the new arrivals

Okko has been crossing paths with Remani more frequently lately, first coming across her at the river [24] and then at other locations. She's friendly enough to make Okko comfortable around her, but has done her fair share of filling the Blush Meter. She recently walked in on an un-romantic moment between Okko and Keylee during the Calm Emotions scene, and left with a great misunderstanding. Fortunately, The Fool was able to clear Okko's name.

She later finds Okko's home to confront him about what she heard from The Fool, about what happened to him under Calm Emotions [21]. Keylee soon joins, and they jointly hold an interrogation, which at the end, due to miscommunication, ends up with Remani knocking him unconscious. When he comes to again, she apologizes for what occurred, but her feeling of guilt soon turns to dread when Keylee uses Calm Emotions once more. During the episode, she's disgusted with what she sees, but after it's done and Okko is left in disrepair while Keylee leaves, she decides to comfort the River Elf for the night. Okko is glad that she forgives him.

After their mission to steal blue prints to a prison, Remani goes back to Okko's room on the ship, where they spend the night getting to know each other and opening up to one another. Following this visit, Okko finds Remani out under the stars in the East-field. What they saw that night, only they can tell.

They totally confessed their feelings to each other that's what.

After a while, they went to Borgost together, which raised some eyebrows from more astute observers (i.e. Lucas, the only one who noticed the two being close when they didn't bother hiding their relationship). Okko left in a hurry to help deal with an issue between Xyla and Josie, and was later given information that could help save their relationship from Remani.

On his birthday, Okko sent Remani on a scavenger hunt for different riddles, leading her to The Wayfarer where he put on a performance for her. After this, they left for dinner at her place and enjoyed the first birthday that he's celebrated in years.
